    Spirited Away

    神游

    《神游》是一款3D横板轻解谜步行模拟器,游戏分为左右两屏,右屏代表现实世界,左屏代表神游世界,两个世界的操作相互影响,玩家需要同时对左右两屏进行相应操作才可顺利通关。设计的灵感来源于《艾迪芬奇的记忆》中切鱼的片段,玩家右手操作鼠标机械地切鱼,左手操作键盘控制角色在另一个国度漫游。

    《神游》希望通过制造左右互博的游戏操作以模拟日常生活中的走神体验。右屏代表的现实世界要求玩家进行不费脑的机械操作,例如不断点击屏幕或是左右滑动,这代表着我们琐碎的日常。与此同时,左屏的步行模拟器让玩家在一个更广阔奇幻的世界游荡玩家将扮演冒险家探索,也将扮演勇士为村庄清除怪物,这个神游世界代表我们走神时飞散部任倚开东克两厥的提作奖会相互彩响、禁望通过这样的游戏机制提炼出走神时需要一心二用的感受。

    Spirited Away is a 9 people group work mini-game. It came out during my participation in Game Design Open Course organized by Tencent. This is a mobile game divided into two screens, the right screen represents the real world and the left screen represents the world of the spirit, the actions of the two worlds affect each other, players need to perform the corresponding actions on the left and right screens at the same time in order to successfully pass the game. Spirited Away wants to create a left-right game action in order to simulate the experience of walking away from everyday life. The real world, represented by the right screen, requires players to perform mindless mechanical actions such as constantly tapping the screen or swiping left and right, which represent our menial daily routines. Meanwhile, the walking simulator on the left screen allows the player to wander through a wider fantasy world, where they will play as adventurers exploring and warriors clearing villages of monsters, a world of wandering that represents our wandering thoughts. The left and right screens will interact with each other, and abandoning either screen will not allow us to successfully pass the level. Through this gameplay mechanic, Spirited Away hopes to distil the feeling of needing to be in two minds when wandering.
    I work as PM and scene art in this project. On one hand, as PM, I proposed the core mechanics and core gameplay of the game, i.e. left and right split screen, simultaneous operation. I also take on a project management role, organising meetings with the team, interfacing with the tutor, and controlling the general direction of the level design. On the other hand, as a scene artist, I build the game scene model, as well as design part of the GUI, design the scene transitions, animation storyboard, etc.
